Questions

Official alerts — FAQ

Where do these alerts come from?
From the agencies' own accounts on Bluesky, read through the public, keyless AT Protocol API. We quote the post, keep the timestamp, and link every item to the original. Nothing is scraped from a private feed, and nothing is rewritten.
Why only these agencies?
We searched roughly 450 candidate accounts (state DOTs, 511 services, highway agencies and police forces in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand). Only Washington State DOT's six regional feeds and 511 SF Bay post live incidents and are still active; National Highways in England stopped in November 2024 and the unofficial English regional repeaters went silent in June 2026. More accounts are added the moment they start publishing.
What about X / Twitter and Telegram?
X's API is paid and Telegram's public channel pages may not be scraped under its terms, so neither is used. Official feeds we already read directly (511 systems, state DOT ArcGIS layers, city portals) are on the live map and the corridor pages.

Posts are © their agencies and are shown as short quotes with a link to the original on Bluesky. This page is informational; in an emergency call 911.
