Lane Departure ODI 11707856 12/30/2025

This happens frequently and has probably happened at least 6 or 7 times since I purchased the car last month. Digital warning alert appears on dash for no reason saying “Consider Taking a Break” even though i consistently keep my car in my lane. The warning is both distracting and annoying, and there is no way on this vehicle to turn it off.

Lane Departure ODI 11706638 12/22/2025

I randomly get warning lights that my camera is disabled for Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision warning, Lane Assist Warning. Each warning message I get comes one after the other stating CAMERA disabled. After a few minutes of driving, all the orange lights disappear and it seems to reset itself to normal. This has happened on three random occass…

Electrical System ODI 11703722 12/08/2025

The vehicle has less than 2,000 miles on it being a 2024 model (hybrid limited) and on more than 2 occasions without warning the car will be dead while parked. No accessories left plugged in to cause drainage, no warning from the MyHyundai bluelink app, and the dealers are completely clueless. The vehicle gets driven every day, and in order to "fix" the issue temporarily, i ha…

Unknown Or Other ODI 11629518 12/08/2024

Driver attention warning: Consider taking a coffee break comes on every 5 minutes. Very distracting to the driver. There is no option to turn this warning off.

Vehicle Speed Control ODI 11703440 12/06/2025

The Gas pedal, would not work as I was trying to accelerate when going from the ramp onto the freeway. The pedal had no pump in it, it just went all the way down as I was trying to press and the car started slowing down. I had to pull over on the side of the freeway and restart the car for the pedal to start working again. I came to the dealership the next day on 12/5/25, at a…

Questions

FAQ

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?
Owners have filed 54 safety complaints with NHTSA for the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, most often about unknown or other. Compare the complaint counts across model years above — a year with far more complaints than the model's average is the strongest 'avoid' signal in public data.
Which Hyundai Elantra years should I avoid?
The rule of thumb used by analysts: a model year whose complaint count is well above the model's own average (we flag 2× or more) usually had a real manufacturing or design problem — not just noisy reporting. Use the year-by-year strip on this page.
Where do these complaints come from?
Directly from NHTSA, the US government road-safety agency. Any owner can file a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire; NHTSA publishes them as public domain data. We cache each lookup for up to 7 days.
Do complaints mean a recall is coming?
Sometimes. NHTSA opens defect investigations when complaint patterns emerge, and investigations can end in recalls. Check the recalls page for this vehicle to see what has already been recalled.
