At around 14:50 WIB on Sunday, near Kuwonan in the Triharjo area of Wates, the motorcycle suddenly lost control, veered off the left side of the road and fell.
According to Iptu Sarjoko, head of public relations at Polres Kulonprogo, the crash was caused when the passenger's clothing — a gamis — became entangled in the rear gear of the motorcycle.

A reminder for riders and passengers
Loose clothing can be caught by a motorcycle's chain, gears or wheels. Keeping garments, scarves and straps tucked away from moving parts reduces the risk of sudden entanglement, which can lock a wheel or throw a bike off balance in an instant.
